RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster offshore exam syllabus

The preparation is conducted on Chao Lay a 13.67 Metre Beneteau oceanis 461.

We provide 4 days preparation helping you fine tune your skill and knowledge for your Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster Exam. On day 5 an independant RYA examiner will conduct the Coastal skipper of Yachtmaster exam.

Candidates may be given the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge or competence in the areas listed below. In each section the examiner will expect to see the candidate take full responsibility for the management of the yacht and crew.

In the Yachtmaster exams the canidate will be expected to demonstrate competence based on a broad experience.

In the Coastal skipper exam the cnadidate will be expected to demonstrate understanding but may not have had the opportunity to practise all aspects of the syllabus under a range of different weather conditions.
